Welcome to the Oak Pointe Elementary School Counselor Page!
It is a pleasure to serve as the school counselor for our wonderful school. Oak Pointe is dedicated to helping our students excel both academically and socially. We work to teach the whole child and grow happy and productive citizens. We are fortunate to have an outstanding facility, staff, supportive families and amazing students. Please know that I am always glad to talk with parents about any challenges our students are facing either at home or at school. I realize there is a lot going on right now and am glad to help if I can!

About the Counselor
Hello! My name is Jennifer Metts and I have had the privilege of being the School Counselor at Oak Pointe Elementary since 2008. I love being a part of such a wonderful community of students, staff and parents. I grew up in Upstate New York and received my undergraduate degree from Clemson. I received my Education Specialist Degree in School Counseling from USC. I can't imagine doing any job other than being an elementary school counselor. I love working with our fabulous students! My husband and I live here in Irmo and both my children are now in college. I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
